Tell us your story
After years of trying to sell my art, I finally decided to set up my own business selling prints and cards. It’s been running for almost a year now and I have so many plans to grow it more over the next few years! I value myself and how far I’ve come, what I’m able to do and the person I’m becoming. I value the time others give me to help me grow, friends and family who support me, and my partner, Tom, who constantly encourages me and cheers me on!
If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self?
be inspired by others, not jealous. I spent so much time wishing that I could be someone else, angry that I wasn’t as good as others, and didn’t give myself enough love and appreciation for the journey which I was on. It feels a lot easier when you start looking at other women and artists as inspiration and stop trying to compete with them.
What does "living freely" mean to you?
Having the freedom to make my own decisions and being in control of my life. Although it isn’t about money, financial freedom to be able to do the things I want to do is important - being able to pack my bags and go traveling if and when I wanted to! Living freely also means not being afraid to be my whole self, being able to wear what I want or share my opinions with others.
