Hi there! So what's your name?
Katrina Weller
Where do you call home?
Melbourne, Australia (originally from the UK)
What do you do?
Podcast host, Grief advocate and speaker
Tell us your story
Through personal experiences of losing my mum to cancer when I was 15, followed by the more recent passing of my baby nephew, I decided to start a podcast that opens the conversation around grief and loss. Through sharing stories and conversations, I believe we can create community, raise awareness and instill hope within the grief and loss space. I am an advocate for all areas of grief - expanding into the impact of job loss, loss of relationships, loss of identity, and much more. My biggest values are connection, compassion, and community. It is my ambition to make the uncomfortable, comfortable, to be a voice for those who don't feel able, and to provide a safe space for those who do.
If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self?
You may not be able to find meaning in the trauma, but you can create meaning in your response
What does "living freely" mean to you?
To be able to express yourself with no judgment - whether that be through your actions, words, or otherwise. The ability to let go of expectations and adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
