I never thought I fit the typical standards of beauty and this led me to become obsessed with beauty and creativity. I decided to become a Makeup Artist to channel my creativity and empower other women to look and feel confident.
However, things drastically changed after experiencing cancer in my family. We started taking healthier measures, which meant eating healthier, using clean skincare, clean hair care, and clean makeup. Although finding clean skincare and haircare was relatively easy, I had a really hard time finding clean makeup that met my needs as a Makeup Artist. I kept trying different clean beauty brands but either the products didn’t have the staying power I needed, the shades didn’t work for my darker skin tone or the products were greenwashed and were not truly clean. After my research, I knew I couldn’t be the only one facing this problem, which led me to start experimenting and that’s how Shimmer Me Gorgeous was born.
Our mission at Shimmer Me Gorgeous is to help you look gorgeous without toxins and animal cruelty while doing socially good. What does this mean? It means that all of our products are formulated with clean skin-loving ingredients, without Parabens, Phthalates, Sulfates, Formaldehyde, BHA and BHT, Fragrances, and without animal-derived ingredients! We are proud to be PETA Cruelty-Free & Vegan Certified. A portion of proceeds from each sale helps provide clean water around the world. We also don’t use unnecessary packaging to reduce our ecological footprint. We’re not in business to just sell makeup but to make a bigger impact on our planet.
