Hi there! So what's your name?

What do you do?
Cofounder of Checkout My Shed
Tell us your story
I have been working in various research and strategy roles for over 10 years. Whilst I love my day job and have always loved helping clients or businesses in the past, I have always wanted to have a more direct, positive impact. I've wanted to launch something and own something that was directly helping others, or, in the case of Checkout My Shed, the planet.
I've always valued growth and learning, and have been ambitious since my first day working. So I suppose it was always inevitable that I would one day create something of my own. It's still a form of learning - just a much more scary version!
My ambition for Checkout My Shed is for it to help as many households in Australia as possible. It's for Checkout My Shed to have a driving role in shifting Australia's mindset from consumerism --> circular economy. If we can shift people from buying to renting, that small change may have a ripple effect into so many other areas of their lives - areas that will hopefully have a wonderful impact on the future of the planet. That's the sort of impact I want to have.
If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self?
Learn how to build a home ha! Then you'll always have a cover.
From a business perspective... 'Just start. The sooner you start, the sooner it will become something'
What does "living freely" mean to you?
Living freely means having flexibility. Flexibility in where and when I work. Flexibility to be able to choose how I spend my time and being able to have an incredibly healthy balance between time spent working and time spent with friends and family.
It means being able to live in a coastal town, without having to sacrifice a career.
How can we keep up with you and Checkout My Shed?
